Zain is a performance physiotherapist with a unique blend of elite athletic experience and clinical expertise in athletic injury management. Born in Pakistan and raised in the United States from the age of six, sport became his world upon his arrival in America.
That journey led him to the University of Houston, where he excelled as a Defensive Back and sprinter. This experience provided him with firsthand insight into pushing the body to its limits and the consequences that can arise when things go awry.
After moving to Australia at twenty, Zain established his academic foundation at Griffith University, earning a Bachelor of Exercise Science, and later continuing at Bond University. His Doctor of Physiotherapy thesis focused on the physical demands of specialist police unit recruits with Queensland Police. Throughout his career, he has lectured in areas such as Injury Management, Exercise Prescription, and Sports Coaching, while also contributing to hamstring strain prevention research with the Gold Coast Titans.
Working with junior athletes is central to Zain’s philosophy. He believes that early athletic development lays the groundwork for future success, aiming to build the physical foundations that allow young athletes to train hard, compete freely, and enjoy long-term participation in their sports.
His extensive sport portfolio includes collaborations with SwimAUS, Southport Sharks, Brisbane Reds, QLD U18 Basketball, Bond Netball, QLD Sundevils Gridiron, and Bond AFL, where he advanced to Head of Human Performance. At the national level, he holds the position of Junior Pathway Physiotherapist for the Australian Flag Football team and recently served as Head Physiotherapist for both junior and senior Queensland teams at the 2026 National Championships.
In Zain's words: "There is nothing more rewarding than watching my young athletes healthy, happy, and dominating in their sport."
When he's not in the clinic or on the sideline, Zain enjoys the outdoors—hiking remote trails, camping under the stars, and adventuring with his dogs, Odin and Hela, or diving into his latest LEGO build.
