Zain is a performance physiotherapist with a rare combination of elite athletic experience and clinical expertise. Born in Pakistan and raised in the United States from the age of six, sport became his world the moment he arrived in America.
That journey carried him to the University of Houston, where he competed as a Defensive Back and sprinter, an experience that gave him a firsthand understanding of what it means to push your body to its limits, and what it costs when things go wrong.
After relocating to Australia at twenty, Zain built his academic foundation at Griffith University (Bachelor of Exercise Science) and later Bond University, where his Doctor of Physiotherapy thesis examined the physical demands placed on specialist police unit recruits with Queensland Police. Along the way, he lectured in Injury Management, Exercise Prescription, and Sports Coaching, and contributed to hamstring strain prevention research with the Gold Coast Titans.
Working with junior athletes has always been at the heart of what Zain does. He believes the early years of athletic development shape everything that follows, and his goal is to build the physical foundations that allow young athletes to train hard, compete freely, and stay in the game long-term.
His sport portfolio spans SwimAUS, Southport Sharks, Brisbane Reds, QLD U18 Basketball, Bond Netball, QLD Sundevils Gridiron, and Bond AFL, where he progressed to Head of Human Performance. At the national level, he serves as Junior Pathway Physiotherapist for the Australian Flag Football team and most recently served as Head Physiotherapist for both the junior and senior Queensland teams at the 2026 National Championships.
In his own words: "There is nothing more rewarding than watching my young athletes healthy, happy, and dominating in their sport."
When he's not in the clinic or on the sideline, Zain is outdoors, hiking remote trails, camping under the stars, and adventuring with his dogs, Odin and Hela...or deep into his latest LEGO build.
